I've had scores of calls, Facebook messages and emails about information given to the Budget and Finance Committee this week by the Department for Transport about the South Road upgrade. In Parliament today there were more questions than answers about why the government won’t reveal what’s happened to the Marion Road Planning Study. Here’s what happened in the Budget and Finance Committee as DIT CEO Tony Braxton-Smith was questioned by Labor.

The SA Parliament’s Budget and Finance Committee today heard new information of relevance to the people of Badcoe. The number of properties to be acquired has risen to ‘around 400’, the revelation of which properties will be acquired will now be ‘progressive’, and the Department discussed what being doorknocked by a DIT official might mean for local people

The heart breaking, violent and unfathomable situation in Afghanistan is undoubtedly horrific.

An elected Malinauskas Labor Government will provide $1.6 million for vital works to upgrade Clarence Park Railway Station. Locals have been crying out for upgrades to the dilapidated station with some residents saying the ageing infrastructure and poor lighting makes them feel unsafe.

I wrote to the Transport Minister on 7th May 2021 to get clarity on whether Glandore Oval might be compulsorily acquired as part of the South Road upgrade - just as I promised locals.

I've now finally got a response.
