The Hon. C.M. SCRIVEN: Moving on to the Marion Road planning study. On 27 June 2016 then Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, as well as the Liberal Member for Boothby, said that a re-elected Turnbull government would commit $2 million to undertake planning for the upgrade of Marion Road. On 27 November 2019 the state government said:
“The Marion Road Planning Study has progressed significantly, with an interim report drafted and the final report to be presented to the Australian government for consideration in coming weeks.”
When will the final report be released?
Mr BRAXTON-SMITH: The final report has been provided to the Australian government and the South Australian government for their consideration, so the decision is with government.
The Hon. C.M. SCRIVEN: Will it be released?
Mr BRAXTON-SMITH: That is a question best directed to the Minister.
The Hon. C.M. SCRIVEN: Have you had discussions about if and when it will be released?
Mr BRAXTON-SMITH: The discussions haven't centred on the release of the study, no.
The Hon. C.M. SCRIVEN: So you don't know whether it will be released at all?
Mr BRAXTON-SMITH: That's a decision for government.
The Hon. C.M. SCRIVEN: Why has there been such a delay, given that that quote was from November 2019?
Mr BRAXTON-SMITH: That's a question that's best directed to those parties that made the statement.
The Hon. C.M. SCRIVEN: So you have had no input into that?
Mr BRAXTON-SMITH: No.
