I am a sufferer of UTIs and patients have been raising with me that Queenslanders can access UTI medication at pharmacies - and is something they wanted South Australia to investigate. It is a very painful, excruciating condition when you get it and we don’t women suffering any longer than is absolutely necessary.

A key stretch of South Road will get a major makeover in coming months, with $22 million of vital resurfacing works set to kick off as part of the River Torrens to Darlington Project.

The initial works will be carried out in both directions on a 3km section between Glengarry Avenue, Glandore, and Bennet Avenue, Melrose Park - delivering a vastly smoother and safer ride for motorists above where the Southern Tunnels will be.

There’s been quite a community campaign to bring those heights back down to a consistent three storeys along that stretch to protect the character zone. So recently we finally won the fight for a Code Amendment which was essentially to look at the review the zoning. A whopping 216 public submissions were put in – that’s people who put pen to paper and said look we want this reduced back down to three storeys.

I’ve unfortunately got firsthand experience as a sufferer of it myself, and my mother and grandmother as well. 50% of South Australian women will get a UTI at some point, and 5% of men as well. It’s incredibly painful, it’s quite debilitating.

Two tram level crossings will be removed in new designs released for the Marion Road, Anzac Highway and Cross Road project at Plympton.

It will make travel in the area safer, faster and easier for people who use public transport, walk, cycle or drive.

People in Badcoe, and beyond, deserve a professional, well-resourced ambulance service - and that’s what this new Richmond Road headquarters and station delivers.

I want everyone in my area to have faith that if they need emergency help - it will be there without delay.

This location in my electorate is ideal to service the city and southern suburbs and I’m looking forward to the investments we’re making benefitting my community.

Health is a key concern for people in the inner south and we’re delivering on our promises to provide high quality health care - especially when that comes to our ambulance services.

This is a moment in time. To give a greater voice to a people is remarkable. And will lead to more remarkable actions in future.

It’s the last day for public submissions to an inquiry examining how pharmacists could safely and promptly provide medication for painful urinary tract infections (UTIs). 

“Park Terrace, which is in Plympton Park, it looks like it’s going to be a main thoroughfare, and at the moment it’s just a little residential street with residents who’ve lived in the area for decades, and they’re really concerned about the volume of traffic that’s going to be coming through their community.”
