Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs Jayne Stinson has kicked off consultation with multicultural groups across SA about proposed new laws to govern the sector.
“We’ve saved Forestville Reserve! This is a great day for our environment and for the long-term future of our beloved and beautiful local reserve,” Member for Badcoe Jayne Stinson said.
“The government’s listened to locals, undertaken detailed and meaningful consultation, along with engineering analysis of all possible alternatives.”
The Member for Badcoe Jayne Stinson has released the Plympton Oval Masterplan.
The release of the plan marks the delivery of Ms Stinson’s 2022 election pledge and kicks off the process to refresh and upgrade the popular sports and community hub at Plympton Park.
Jayne Stinson MP has lodged a submission with RenewalSA detailing the views and concerns of the Badcoe community about the planned Locale development at Forestville.
The submission is based on extensive community consultation conducted by Ms Stinson spanning several years, as well as survey results since the latest plans were released in 2021.
Although overall there is a moderate to high level of support for the project, there are three main areas on concern for local people. These are proposed heights exceeding mandated limits along Leader Street; Traffic congestion; and green space and urban canopy.
A plot of residential land at Black Forest will be returned to the community as green space, preserving two historic trees on the property which gave the suburb its name, following a campaign by Member for Badcoe Jayne Stinson.

Energetic five year old Manreet loves playing at Kesmond Reserve with her Mum Randeep. They're among the local families to benefit from a $2 million upgrade to this wonderful community space.
At the last election I pledged to upgrade Kesmond Reserve - and I'm delighted it's now finally happening! I lobbied the Premier Steven Marshall for this upgrade in 2018 but he refused. I’m glad someone in the Department now sees the merit of the plan.
The upgrade includes a fitness loop, multi-sport courts, nature play area, new community building, shelters, cricket and soccer nets and landscaping.
